Thanks zzzz

I've seen loads of pictures of people using steam mops on wood floors and always feel a bit dubious about it - surely it's bad for the wood?

That pledge stuff looks a bit safer

Oh yes - can't be doing with those "floral fragrance" type things that make the place smell vile.

I love the method hard floor cleaner, you don't need to faff with water just squirt on the floor and use a big flat mop thing. It makes the house smell divine and no nasty chemicals.

It smells almondy and lovely not floral and artificial . People always comment in it in a good way.

Have just googled and The Method looks fab.

However, is it suitable for varnished wood or just wax? I can't seem to find that info for it.

Wahing up liquid in warm water and a very well squeezed mop

My mum used to use Pledge soapy wood floor cleaner which was good, then she moved to Method and thanks it's fantastic. She has varnished hard wood floors. Very easy to use and smells tasty Smile She used to wipe with a damp Vileda sponge mop, but she I think she uses one of those flat cloth mops now.

I use my steam mop Blush with a very dilute amount of pledge wood.

Haven't noticed any damage -yet- and the floors are very shiny

BasilBabyEater · 26/09/2013 12:12

How long have you been doing that Iorek?

About 18 months

I have a rectangular mop thingy too. I use that on the laminate, didn't occur to me I might be damaging the varnished boards Blush.

I've had a look at them and they look fine Grin
