I an parting with my beloved old range cooker, never used electric! What do you have and do you love it? I do a lot of baking but can`t afford another range. Thanks

Dual fuel. DH is a chef and likes the control you get with gas burners, and the even heat distribution with fan oven. We have a Cannon that's never let us down for 10 years.

+1

The Cannon Harrogate is quite nice, but the Hotpoint HUD is actually the same apart from badging and trim, and less expensive. My Harrogate has catalytic liners, not sure if the HUD does. Both were a Which best buy. it has two ovens, and the larger (lower) one is too low for me. Previously had a Zanussi ZM which I preferred but it only had one big oven plus a pan drawer.

catalytic oven liners absorb fat splashes and mist, and burn it away. The have a rough surface rather like unglazed pottery.

If you mostly do non-fatty baking, it burns away faster than it builds up. if you constantly do high-temperature fatty roasts, it will build up faster than it burns away.

sounds good to me, thank you!

Well now I've learned why my oven is all rough on the inside Grin Honestly, some days I really don't feel like a grown up!
