Goose feather or hollow fibre duvet?

I need to buy a new duvet and we have always had hollow fibre ones - I have found some goose feather ones on special offer - can anyone tell me how they compare?

And, stupid question, but where do the goose feathers come from?? Geese aren't killed solely to fill a duvet are they?? Confused

No, usually they are plucked alive Sad

some retailers only use feathers from dead birds. But you'd have to research it.

Wool is meant to be good and is also not prone to dust mites. Smile

In terms of quality, goose feather is miles better.

I think John Lewis certify their goose feather as being non-cruel (I assume some other places do too). If it's not explicit on the product info, call the company or ask in store if applicable.
