Giving up ironing update...

A couple of w'ends ago I asked for advice re giving up ironing. Just to say we did it. The wash has to go out immediately with a bloody good shake - and with that most things look great. I tried lower spins but then ended up using the dryer. The bedding and tea towels don't go away as well....Men's shirts and cotton dresses still need doing but apart from that it really, really doesn't need doing. We look fine. No one has noticed. The hours I've spent ironing in the past....Blush DO IT!!! X

Brilliant :-D shirts are the only thing which get ironed in our house, except if we're going to a wedding or interview or something and then dresses/trousers are done as required.

I gave up ironing five years ago, as a result of an operation on my right arm. I actually have it in writing from hospital that I am not to iron. It is perfectly doable. If you hang shirts on hangers and do up the top button and fold the collar carefully, then you don't have to bother to do them either. Wine

Ironing is a complete waste of time and electricity. With 4 kids I literally would have to work fewer hours, or would have to pay somebody else, if I wanted things ironed. What a waste of money that would be!
