Looking for some fun jobs for my lazy dc to do. They do v little (just bring plates through) but have just got ds (nearly 4) and dd2 (6.5) have just washed placemats and dusted tv. Now they say they are fed up and bored with it. What else do your dc enjoy doing?

Cleaning windows, hoovering, dusting with the feather duster, mopping the floor with the spray mop.

My dd2 aged 4 loves hoovering. This is help full until she hoovered all the water out of the dig bowl. I fill an old spray bottle with a very diluted washing up liquid solution and let them " clean " the bathroom, skirting boards, doors and kitchen doors.

Wiping kitchen cupboard doors, floors, putting dishes away. They always like hoovering too, but end up taking double the time and not picking up much dust.

Mine will empty the dishwasher in exchance for a chocolate button! Still have to hover around and help them when they can't reach, but it's still better than doing it myself.

A bit younger than yours - My 2yo will wipe toys (or anything else) with a cloth. I hope it sets the scene for learning to look after things generally. Also setting the table and sorting anything- piles of socks to be paired after being washed is a good one. Folding laundry too.

My 3 year old likes hoovering, mopping and dusting. I can also convince him to put clothes in the washing machine. That's about all I can think of.

Thank you for all the ideas, the kitchen cupboards can be ds' s afternoon task. Do you give them cleaning wipes or baby wipes or just a damp cloth - not sure about the chemicals on their skin.

I need them to be doing a bit more as I spend all my time picking up after them all and not enough time sorting.

Damp microfibre cloth is all I let DS use for cleaning. No nasty chemicals and he can't damage anything in the process of cleaning it.

Same here, damp cloth for wiping clean and a dry one for wiping dry.
