Mushrooms in Wet Room

i installed a wet room about six months ago. I'm really the only one who uses it but I use it every day. Today my husband (glad it wasn't me) discover what could only be described as mushrooms (2 or 3 of them) growing behind the door. I keep the whole house tidy so I don't really know where they came from, anyway any one else have this and what can I do to stop them growing again. Put some bleach down in the area where they were growing after husband had removed them.

Bleach treats bacteria, surely you need an anti-fungal product??

Thanks vivacia, bleach was all I had and just seemed like a good idea, better than nothing. What kind of anti fungal would you recommend? Will an anti fungal stop any more mushrooms growing?

As mushrooms are a fungus, I would expect an anti fungal treatment to work.

Thanks AnythingNotEverything, can you recommend which anti fungus to use please.

your extractor fan is not powerful enough, or is not running for long enough.

How long does (a) the floor and towels stay wet after use, and (b) how long does the fan run after use? (b) must be greater than (a)

Ask a foul smoker to visit your home and puff their disgusting fumes in the bathroom. Can you see them being sucked forcefully away?

I've lived in Greece, where the wet room only dries properly for five months a year. Would never expect them to work in the UK without lots of extra heating.

design fault, I'm afraid. As per Piglet John's comments.

I'm not sure about over-the-counter products. I know that vinegar and tea tree oil are supposed to be anti-fungal but haven't had to fight fungus myself, so I'm not sure. I think just agitating the surface would prevent the spores from sprouting, so would just wipe over with what you usually use in the bathroom (which is dilute vinegar and scented oil in a spray bottle for me).

Listerine is apparently anti fungal. I know, it sounds ridiculous, but it's meant to be true. I think you can mix it with vinegar.
