Boots used to sell descaler for sterilisers so you could ask in there. There is also a way of doing it with vinegar but I'm not sure how much you should use

[[http://www.boots.com/en/Boots-10ml-Steam-Steriliser-Descaler-6-Pack_10091/ they have them on the Boots website

try again!

White vinegar will do it too. Don't use malted vinegar.

I use citric acid, instructions are machine specific but sure you could Google

Thanks! I did think of white vinegar but wondered whether it would smell...but I assume that's just malt Blush

White vinegar still smells of vinegar, but the smell does go! A couple of rinses and it's gone.

We have the same steriliser and the tommee tippee website recommend the boots ones linked above. Bottles were starting to smell when coming out and i didnt feel they were clean. We tried one yesterday and it worked well.

My sterilizer was never the same again after I descaled, using the stuff that came with the sterilizer. I wish I hadn't bothered tbh.

chocolateapple · 06/09/2013 15:59

I did the white vinegar and it did stink the kitchen and even the garden out. Smell has gone though after a rinse!

Frontdoorstep I only did it because there was a build up on the heat pad from, I'm assuming, using bottled water in Spain! Definitely wouldn't have bothered if that wasn't there! Smile

I had an advent bottle steamer 10 years ago now which I used citric acid to descale it, I got a packet from boots the chemist you have to ask for it as they have them behind the counter, they will ask you what you want it for.
