Washing trainers in washing machine

Anyone do this? How many pairs would you reckon you can do at once? I have a pile of trainers DS has grown out of over last couple of years and they are in need of a good clean before I take them to charity bin. Don't fancy doing them all by hand though. I have let them build up in a big bag.

I've done it and it works well, but you'll need to dry them.

I have done before too but only one pair at a time. Just wondering how many I can put in machine at once really. Might try three with an old towel and see how that goes.

Put a couple of towels in so they don't bash the sides of the machine too much.

I always was trainers just put them in with normal load of washing then put on windowsill or radiator to drySmile

Five pairs all washed and mostly clean. Drying nicely in the sunshine.

Weelady - I am far too pernickety to do with normal washing. And they were far too dirty. We actually have two washing machines - one old rubbishy one that is in the boiler room and I use for the dogs blankets etc so I did them in that one.

My boys are teenagers so not dirty, but when they were small I used to rinse them under a tap to get all mud off then bung them in, just put them in with blankets then they will be fine Smile
