Time to tumble dry?

How long should a proper tumble dryer, not a washer-dryer, take for a reasonable load - say 1/3 of a wash, like 2 single duet covers?

Cos I'm having to use mine a lot now, and can't believe it's taking 1 1/2 hours for a small load! Am I expecting too much or is this rather crap?

@Tiptree55 you might be better starting your own thread on this. Having said that, I recall someone having a thread about a similar problem recently.
I have a Zanussi 8kg condenser & bloody love it. At least now we’ve managed to turn off the beeps.

What is the spin speed on your washing machine?

I had a 1200 spin Bosch which finally died after 10 years, bought a 1400 AEG and noticed a huge difference in tumble drying time.

I can't peg washing out as Dh has severe hay fever so any extra pollen brought into the house is horrific for him. I have asthma and can't dry washing inside.

I have an 9kg Beko condenser sensor dryer, if I wash bedding from 2 single beds, so 2 fitted sheets, 2 pillow cases, 2 duvet covers they will bone dry in under an hour, possibly 40 minutes, I haven't timed it but there are different settings on the dryer for how dry I want it. Duvet covers are from Next so polycotton.

Should have said, mine is a B rating, didn't go for the A+ ones as they do take hours to dry. And as my son would say ain't nobody got time for that Grin

My Beko cost £270 this year. Bargain. Replaced a previous Beko, pretty much same one.
