How to give up ironing (without crunchy towels etc)

I have decided to give up ironing...suppose the odd work shirt or dress is going to have to be done. Just about to return to work after mat leave and am also depressed by the constant ironing pile. There is no time for it. It seems a waste of my life. DD has eczema so I haven't been using fabric conditioner of late - the perfume is the worst - but Surcare do a perfume free, skin friendly one. I just wanted to know what I can do to prevent crunchy towels and general crappy looking stuff. Thanks for your tips xx

I haven't ironed for years, we have an iron as DS likes cotton shirts so he irons them. Its a waste of time.

I would love not to iron but unironed stuff does look a bit shit unless it's polyester - which I hate anyway. I never iron towels though - that way madness lies.

Well I am inspired. Thanks all. I am putting it all away with my best folding and then will experiment with folding wet and spin speeds. I wore a cotton dress yesterday - all crumpled as we were away staying in a hotel for a night and it had been just shoved in a bag. I felt a bit self conscious going to breakfast but no one came up and gasped at my attire and when we got back to the room it didn't look so bad at all.

Huge hugs and Thanks for everyone.

My washing basket is empty. Sigh. Feels great xxx
