Integrated recycling bins for new kitchen - advice needed!

Does anyone know of/have a multi-compartment (ideally 4) integrated bin that is narrow (ideally 300mm wide)? I cannot find one!

Installing new kitchen. Have just spent far too much of my life discussing bins with DH. (He had to drink whole bottle of wine to cope and it's now midnight.) I turn to you to save me.

We live in an area where we have to separate waste into 6 categories! (Paper; plastic & tin; card; glass; "black bin/landfill/non-recyclable; food.) I don't want to (know can't be arsed to) walk out to garage each time to separate out (which is what DH proposes). Needs to be on hand near sink.

What should I compromise on? What should I stick to my guns on?

Advice from peeps in areas where you have lots of split recycling would be great. Have just moved from a 1-bag-for-all recycling area so this is doing my head in yet I know it's key to get right.

Thanks

I have my mini compost bin next to the sink (enamel, vintage type) and then I mix my dry (paper/tin/glass etc) recycleables together in 1 bin under the sink and take them out to sort when full. I also have a small bin under the sink for non-recycleables. My bins are at the bottom of the garden through 2 locked gates in an alleyway so its not really practicle for me to take the rubbish out constantly.

I did see in Ikea multi compartment bins but im not sure how narrow they are, possibly bigger than you need.

Its a real arse ache isn't it?
We also have to sort but can put card/tins/plastic into one blue wheelie bin at least. I am still trying to work out what sort of bin system to put into my new kitchen which will accommodate all the general and recycling waste.
Would this be any good?

Sorry just realised that the linked to set if for an 800mm cabinet.
John Lewis and Amazon have some good options, but you will probably need to buy more than one set if you only have a 30mm cabinet.

Ikea do a selection of different inexpensive bins you can choose from here. They are meant to fit in a unit that pulls out, basically a pan drawer with an extra tall front. Any kitchen range should be able to supply a unit like this, and you could then choose which bins to put in. A 300 mm cabinet is quite narrow though, that could be a challenge if it's your only bin space.

Agree it might be easier to have food, non-recyclable and dry recycling under the sink, that will be only 3 bins and then take the dry recycling out and split it into your various containers every so often.

Can you split it into recycling usually generated in the kitchen (plastic/tins, landfill, food, etc) and stuff you generate elsewhere (paper, cardboard)? And have the bins for the non-kitchen stuff elsewhere? That's what we do.

Thanks for all the ideas laydeez - much appreciated.

I think I have worn DH down to say yes to a wider bin than 300mm (prob 600mm) so the options for multi-compartment increase - brand reco's welcome please for 4-compartment integrated bins, with fixed lid (not those little lift off ones which I just know I would curse)- thanks.

While I'm on it, the other argument healthy debate we're having is whether it is essential that the bin and dishwasher can be open at the same time. I say yes, DH says no. Currently our kitchen designer has suggested a layout w/ bin near a corner and dishwasher just around the corner which means they both open fine but just never at the same time. I think in any case we will have a counter top food recycling/compost crock which would take food scrapings pre-d/washer.

Any thoughts/experience?

Thanks again!
