Getting mould from fabric

Just found a wet shirt in a nappy bag in ds nursery bag. It had been zipped into the outside pocket that is never normally used.
Anyway,it has black spots of mould. I soaked it in ace bleach which doesn't appear to have done anything. Can it be saved or is it just heading for the bin?

We just tackled a big mould problem ar home, and I helpfully came on here to mention vinegar and failing that, bleach... But it looks like you've already tried, so it may be past it Hmm

We used vinegar first, then if that didn't work. a 6:1 bleach solution and also left anything affected out in the sun. Not sure if this will be much use, but good luck!

Try soaking in Milton overnight. I did this for one of dd's dresses that had some black spots round the neckline. Worked brilliantly.

I went the all guns blazing route with big dark mould patches on a flowery print cotton dress and just sprayed the patches with Dettol Mould and Mildew remover, I had tried washing and soaking in Milton etc and nothing worked so this was last resort before the bin. It worked perfectly, took a few washes before the chemical smell disappeared but it didn't bleach out the print or anything. Looks perfect now.

I had a similar experience recently with a top that had been left to fester for about a week. I washed it and left it hanging on the line for a week or so, and all the spots are now gone. Worth a try.

vanish spray worked really well on some mould spots I found on a top.
