I need labels for ds's clothes. Are iron on labels good, or would it be better to sew them on? TIA Smile

Iron on never stay and sew on are a bore to do, mothercare do a laundry pen that you can write their name on stuff with and it never comes off - ta da!

Mum of tried of tested boys aged 11 and 6. - 7 years of primary school naming stuff!

You need to sew them on. Iron on labels fall off generally.

Sew on - then you can un pick and re use and sell the clothes on/give them away without names written in.

I've bought iron on labels from Easy2name and they's stayed in place well. Follow the instructions and you'll be fine. They do a school starter pack which has iron on labels, plus labels for shoes, water bottles etc and a named sports bag. DS's bag is 3, nearly 4 years old now, and still looks like new, so the name etc. stays on well.

Just watch out for clothing items which can't be ironed as you'll end up leaving a nice melted iron shape on the back of the garment. Hmm

Stickins!! They are like stickers that go on the label of clothes, take five seconds to apply and don't come off (some of mine have been washed twice/week for 18 months are haven't moved). These have literally changed my life- name labelling the uniform is now very quick! Can also be used on hard things like lunchboxes.

Just use a sharpie pen

I used tinyme last year for DSs clothes. They are iron on and none came off at all. They also do dishwashable labels which can be used on lunchboxes, water bottles, books etc and they do shoe labels.
They are also very cute. We are using them again this year as I have to start again Angry as we've moved house & school so whole new set of uniform req.
Not cheap but absolutely fab quality and they made it very easy for 4yoDS to pick out his stuff at school.
