How do I remove built up grime from kitchen cupboards?

Hi all - off work today so decided to clean outside of kitchen cupboards. Are there any products that would make it easier to remove the built up grime? Tried some baking soda. It did help, but are there any easier methods?

Neat washing up liquid with green side of washing up sponge. I scrubbed for hours before discovering this when I moved in.

Star drops cuts through grease really well.

I did this recently (tops of cupboards after about 10 years).
I put kitchen roll on top, spray-soaked the paper with a water/washing up liquid solution - waited some time and then took the paper off and removed the soaked grime with a scraper (word? the thing you use to remove wallpaper).
It came clean off like fried yoghurt - it was oddly satisfying-

And then my DSis asked why my cupboard tops were not covered with old paper....

Paint scraper for cupboard tops and then put a layer of newspaper on top so that next time you dont have to scrape - just replace the paper as mentioned above.

I do two washes - one with whatever version of Flash I have in at the time, another with distilled vinegar. Use a different microfibre cloth for each.
