As usual, I'm just letting Mnetters know that there's an Amazon promotion on, and my eBook Austerity Housekeeping is free from about lunchtime on 8th August for 24 hours in case any of you would like a copy. It's compatible with Kindles, PCs, Macs, iPads and most smartphones (i.e. you don't need a Kindle in order to read it). if you do download a free copy, I'd really appreciate a review in return.

Ta,
Boff x

Thanks! I've read it nearly all in one sitting apart from the recipes, it is very timely for our family at the moment, especially the tips on getting organised.

ScrambledSmegs · 08/08/2013 22:49

Zing - you need to purchase from Amazon. You can use the link that BoffinMum posted. The book should be delivered directly to your device.

You do need a Kindle device or app to download/read Kindle books, sparkle. Sorry. You can get it on PCs though if you don't mind downloading the reading app. Here.

Glad so many people are finding it helpful.

BTW I successfully managed to download it onto my iPhone and iPad, using the free Kindle reading app.

DocMarten · 09/08/2013 07:56

Thanks Boff, have just downloaded to my kindle Smile

Missed it! Ah well, £2.99 well spent since I'm moving next week and there's loads to do :)

ILikeToClean · 09/08/2013 18:59

Thanks Boff, I downloaded on to my Iphone and started it on the train this morning. I am fairly organised anyway but there are some really good tips in there - am getting paranoid that I don't have a Box of Last Resort yet - so that is on my list to sort out! Looking forward to getting back on the train soon and reading more...

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 09/08/2013 19:01

Thank you so much for this - I have downloaded it and started reading it, and it is very good indeed - intelligent, witty and sensible. Thanks

BoffinMum · 09/08/2013 21:27

Zing, yes, any reviews, good or bad, are always welcome (tbh the good ones slightly more welcome than the others!) Grin

boff it will be good, worry not!Grin

I totally agree with long warranty on a washing machine.
last month I washed 55 loads! (we have 6 kids) we have a really good Miele wm, but last Nov the belt broke and it cost a lot to replace it.

(Actually I was without it for 3 weeks, which drove me to sulking, the Internet and that's when I discovered Mumsnet - first ever thread I read was about best household tips and I remember you giving lots of brilliant advice!)

the toned down mention of "twigs and pebbly shit" did make me snort! Grin

ZingWidge · 09/08/2013 21:51

I did discover a typo - very minor.

CaptainJamesTKirk · 09/08/2013 21:53

I downloaded but can't look until I get back from holidays and charge my kindle. I will definitely review.

BoffinMum · 09/08/2013 22:25

Yes, I am afraid there are a couple of typos, and the fruit cake recipe may not have the cooking time in there (it's 45-60 minutes, BTW).

The twigs and pebbly shit reference is a wink in the direction of the MN community Grin

maybe in your next book you could mention "hamwidge" and pretend it's a typo? Grin Grin Grin

btw congrats on book itself, I'm impressed! Thanks

BoffinMum · 09/08/2013 22:47

I am currently working on a parenting book so may sneak it in there Grin
