Suggestions for apps to keep you organised

Which apps do you use to keep you "organised"? Are there some super duper apps out there that you could not live without? Ones that organise your lists, remind you about things better than a standard calendar or just tell you to keep calm and carry on? Thanks.

RTM (remember the milk)

As a straight to do app I think Any.do is one of the best.

For lists (with reminders), Wunderlist.

For serious organisation and task management, I use Asana.

And for keeping everything I need to know together, Evernote.

I like GNotes. There's a reminder function and it backs up all of your notes to your Gmail account

ok v confused now. tribpot do you use all 4 lists and why do you need all 4?

I use remember the milk. Tried some others with more features but realised all I really wanted was a to do list with certain events scheduled every x weeks etc.

I use Errands

Rummikub · 29/07/2013 00:18

Me too shoe. Love errands.

worriedsick100 · 29/07/2013 01:15

ok do any of these have something like you can organise lists into, for example, today, this week, this month, this year and where if a task is not confirmed as having been done it keeps rolling?

Yes you can do that with errands.

Evernote is not really a to do list but it is a great tool for organisation. It's like a virtual filing cabinet, so you can keep whatever you need in there and access it on all your devices. This can include lists with checkmarks against them (so a shopping list, for example). And you can now assign a due date to notes in Evernote but it doesn't have real list organisation.

Any.do used to be my to do list of choice but it just doesn't do enough for me. It's well worth a look, though.

Wunderlist - no, there's no real reason why I use this, I was testing out a few apps at the same time. It's worth looking at for you, though - Errands looks good but it only works on Apple devices.

So Asana is the main thing that I actually use for organising to dos. I wouldn't if I wanted to do more of the actual to do creation and management on a device rather than on my laptop, because the app interface isn't (yet) rich enough.

I use Pepperplate for meal planning, recipe organising and shopping lists. It syncs to all our devices.

Me and DH both have calengoo and wunderlist. We can see each others calendars (helps with child care planning and planning in general). Wunderlist is free I think (as are lots of list apps) but in using that one as we can have shared to do lists. I hoped it would make it easier to get DH to do certain household tasks, limited success so far! Wunderlist can do rolling tasks and I've got birthdays/anniversaries etc only and the calendar. You can also get dedicated home routine apps but I felt this was going a bit too far for me... And the "cozi" family app looked interesting but haven't fully engaged with it! HTH

Only = on this

I love my "what's in the freezer" app

DinoSnores · 02/08/2013 09:54

Todoist is great. It's very simple but I'm a complete convert.

I love Food Planner on Android. You can store favourite recipes (import from loads of websites if you cba to type them in), set up a meal plan as far ahead as you want, send the ingredients to a shipping list, keep track of what's in your cupboard.... it's fantastic and the developer has just started a service to share meal plans (some free, some payable). Haven't used it yet though.

For to do's I use DTG, which is based on the "getting things done" organisation method, and you can also sync to Toodledo website and all your other devices.

I used to love Llamagraphics to do app when I still used a Palm, but they went the iOS route whereas I went to Android. Worth checking out if you have an iPhone though (assuming it's the same quality as it used to be).
