Washing Machine Leaking on a Quick Wash Only

I have a Beko washing machine. Every time I use the quick wash programme it leaks a lot. It doesn't happen on any other programme just this one. I can't work out why. I've just cleaned out the filter because it wasn't draining so that's all clear.

It's usually the filter but you've cleared that.

If you go under the sink and disconnect the fitting that your washing machine is attached too.. Its likely that its got bits stuck in it. I've found all sorts in mine.. Proper 'how the hell did that get in there' head scratch moment.

Thanks, i'll try that. I just can't work out why it's that particular programme that's the problem.

I tried that and there was nothing in the pipe.

Have you done the maintenance wash with the bicarb in the drum and on hot?

I can't understand either why its doing it on one cycle the brain shouldnt make the mechanics work different.

When you cleaned the filter out, did you wiggle your finger in the hole to check for objects. Bobby pins are usually the culprit in this house.

when you've done another wash on that cycle, come back and tell me what happens.. I'm curious.

Yep I wiggled my fingers in an there was nothing there. I did a maintenance wash a few weeks ago and it was leaking before that and after on the quick wash. It can't hurt to try again though. It's currently on its 2 and a half hr 40 degree wash.

I'm curious too because it just doesn't make any sense.

I know, it's ridiculous how long some of those cycles are as an aside.

Do another quick wash and see what happens.. I can't find anything googling aside from this thread and a question on an ask site.. Even my husband is stumped.

I've been googling like crazy and nothing comes up. Ill try the maintenance wash in the morning, By the time this load finishes it'll be too late for a 3 hr wash. I'm determined to figure it out, my electric bill is huge and the 30 min wash would be much better than 2 and a half hrs several times a day. Thanks for all the suggestions.

leave the soap drawer slightly open and watch. Does it leak while filling, or while sloshing about, or while pumping out? Where does the leak come from? is it soapy water or clear?

Is a quick wash filled higher up the door than other cycles?

biscuitsandcheese · 24/07/2013 12:54

I've tried a maintenance wash and a quick wash and it's still leaking.

It's coming from under the machine on the right hand side about half way through the cycle. It's clear water.

Is a quick wash filled higher up the door than other cycles?? I was wondering if there was a leak higher up.

Anyway, I think you need an appliance repairman. From what you say it is not leaking while filling up or when pumping out, so I can't think what it is. Not being rude, but some Beko are quite inexpensive, so check the price of a new machine before committing to a costly repair.

biscuitsandcheese · 24/07/2013 13:06

Thanks, I'm not sure if it fills up higher, I will check.

It's not even 2 yrs old yet. I don't really want to pay for it to be fixed when the reason I want to use the quick wash is to save on my electric bills.

I'm not sure that quickwash uses less electricity. It is usually more vigorous than an ordinary wash.

biscuitsandcheese · 24/07/2013 14:21

I didn't realise that. I may leave it be then.
