How to remove mould from curtain lining?

I spoke to my MIL in the UK & she asked me to post if anyone knew how to get mould out of curtain lining,
I could only think of a bleach solution but that would take the colour out.
I'm not sure if they are dry clean only or machine washable. She said it's just the lining at the base of the curtain from condensation. She would have to separate the material from the lining in order to use a bleach solution. Would an Oxy action spray work?

I run my own curtain making business, in all honesty, it's a relining job, if the face of the fabric is worth saving. Most curtains are not machine washable. Even if they are ready mades that stats they are there is always an element of shrinkage and the fabric and lining invariably react differently. I know this because I've either then been called in to relind or replace entirely.

For future reference though, you can get anti rot linings, suitable for damper houses, like old cottages. I've not used it myself, bug would only take a google !

You have to kill the mold spores first which I did successfully with a steam cleaner. Then use a dehumidifier to stop it coming back. I used it in my car & there were no traces of mould left. You could then use lemon, natural boric acid & salt to scrub or soak them depending on its severity.
