Hi, anyone got any tips on how to or which products to use when cleaning stainless steel eg ovens, kettles. I can clean them alright, but can never get rid of the smears that are left.
Thanks

Use a microfibre cloth to dry it. No product needed. You can get microfibre clothes intended especially for stainless steel. When I think it needs a bit of a shine, I use stainless steel cleaner by Method.

Buff it all over with a drop or two of baby oil.

Second vote for the baby oil

Deck baby oil gives good shine.

Deck?? Sorry definitely.

Depends what the smears are - if oily from cooking etc then a cheap white vinegar (like you get in chip shops) will work fine.

Window cleaner (like Windolene) is great - same principle as white vinegar I presume.

Not as cheap as baby oil (hadn't heard of using it before for steel!) but I highly recommend Method Steel for Real with a microfibre cloth. Works brilliantly, very easy, polished in just moments, and smells nice.

For things like steel sinks then definitely Bar Keepers Friend, I find it a bit of a hassle on steel worktops etc but for the sink it's brilliant, get out any stains very easily, leaves the sink bright and shiny, and again, smells nice.

Had some baby oil so tried that first. Came up a treat. Thanks everyone for your tips.
