What flooring is in your bathroom?

I'm getting rid of the carpets! :)
There's a family bathroom, ensuite and downstairs loo to refloor. The rooms themselves are totally white and plain so there are a lot of possibilities!

What have you got?
Would you recommend it?
Was it expensive?

Oh and if you're in the East Midlands then any recommendations would be great! :)

Tiles, lightish blue mottled, easy to mop.

I hate bathroom carpet with a vengeance

Anyone have any idea if it's possible to fit new flooring under an existing free standing bath?!?

motherofvikings · 03/07/2013 20:11

Holla - that link says that it's nearer £70/ m sq once you add on VAT! Shock
It would be cheaper to cover the floor in real money I think! Confused

I can't believe people pay £50+ sq m for lino. I thought the whole point of lino was that it was a cheaper option. You could get beautiful limestone slabs for that price. This is what I'm thinking of putting in my new house.
Had tiles in old house, never found them too cold. But really like real stone features and as its an old cottage think it would work better with the character of the house.

We're in the middle of putting down Harvey Maria vinyl tiles in chessboard pattern. Looks amazing so far.

We've got Speedliner in ours - a cambered floor wet room type affair. It's good except we got this super-textured mix, which is totally non slip but an absolute bugger to clean: you can't mop! A mop would just jam solid to the floor - any fabric is just gripped it's so non slip, so I have to clean it with a yard brush. It was great when DH really needed the non slip floor but now tbh if I weren't moving I would have it resprayed in a smoother mix.

It's a great finish otherwise: much cheaper than Amtico but a similar effect. Very hardwearing.

They quoted me the lower price over the phone, motherofviking - but I agree it's still pricy which is why I'll probably end up with budget flooring from Homebase, sigh

motherofvikings · 03/07/2013 21:56

Yep - it'll be Lino here too.
If I can find some white sparkly Lino ill be very happy though! :)

stained Carpet courtesy of the previous owners. I cannot wait until it is GONE and replaced by beautiful tiles. There are no tiles in my bathroom. Only wood panelling

I would use the en suite but it has the oddest, wonkiest, crappest mosaic tiling you have ever seen. Huge gaps filled with just grouting(!!!). Give me decent sized, properly laid tiles. I love tiles.

Even laminate at a stretch. Just. Never. Carpet.
