Small holes in cotton jersey

Do moths only make holes in wool? There are little circular holes in my cotton jersey sheets snd t shirts. Would they be caused by moths or just snagged on something in the washing machine

Fabric conditioner can weaken the fibres so they tear and hole very easily. Even the 2 in 1 wash/conditioners. i have had this happen with T shirts and jersey separates.

Moths eat anything, not just wool. It could be moths.

Are the holes at belt height? One of my belt buckles put holes in a couple of my cotton tops before I worked out what was causing it.
