I'm looking to replace all of the above but as money will be a little tighter in the next couple if years I would like to replace with good quality, but affordable if possible.
What would be your recommendations for any or all of those items?
See I told you it was thrilling didn't I?

It is thrilling, actually. I love bed linens, because I love my bed!

I would look for medium thread count sheets, over 350, but not the ridiculous 600. they will be softer and last longer than the 150 count.

And check out overstock.com and other places online that especially have free shipping!

I also shop the sale bins at home stores, they often have good quality at discounts.

For tea towels, Lakeland rules!

You cannot beat them, honestly they are brilliant!

I find TK Maxx very good for linens (bed, teatowels etc). I do like linen union (glass towels) rather than 100% cotton teatowels, and they are getting difficult to find these days, but found some in my local TK Maxx recently. Their bedlinen is good quality too, though you might have a job matching duvet covers to bottom sheets. Of course, no good to you unless you have one nearby!

Oh, and I bought some super Christie bathroom towels there just a week ago - far cheaper than normal retail price!

I like white ones. Easy to wash, easy to match. White duvet covers seem to be the norm in Switzerland and southern Germany.

Over here mostly come from Debenhams as they are usually on sale. Cheaper by the bale than individually. Preferably Egyptian soft variety.

Interestingly, I got several "gift packs" of supersoft towels in the Plumbworld clearance sale, very good price, gave some away. They have the very fine pile on them and feel very soft, but have gone prematurely bald. I am guessing this is because they were so soft and fine.

The very thick Christie towels are very nice but expensive, and deep colours fade before the towels are worn.

That's really helpful Thankyou, never been into Lakeland but there is one in Stratford westfield so will go there next time I'm shopping there.
TK Maxx somewhere I never really go,tbh since I had kids the days of rummaging through racks of clothes have long gone! However I did get a shirt and smart Cardigan for ds last week and was pleasantly surprised at the quality and selection there, dresses for dd that were very pretty but a little different to usual high St stores.I will go back and revisit the home department.
Interesting about thread count for sheets etc, again not something I ever consider but maybe I should to ensure better quality.
Will def look at those websites, any other online suggestions would be appreciated.
Christie towels I'm guessing are available in John Lewis,Debenhams etc?

I find TJMaxx very good too, though you never know what will be there, so better to check periodically than to go there saying "must find towels in French blue made of 100% cotton." Also agree re: IKEA. Our duvets are both from there and they have held up surprisingly well, I am really sick of them now.
