stainless steel kitchen bins - advice please

Can anyone recommend a decent quality large capacity (50l) stainless steel bin for the kitchen that doesn't cost a bomb? The spring on the lid opening mechanism on our Simplehuman one has broken and although I liked it I bought it in a sale and full price they - and other good brands - are very expensive.....

I came onto this thread to recommend simple human. We have two of them in our kitchen. One from John Lewis and one from TKmaxx. So I'd recommend a trip to TKmaxx to see if they have any.
We used to have a brabantia bin which needed wiping constantly to keep clean and shiny looking.

Have a look at the Curver Deco range. They do a mix of 40L and 50L bins. We have the semicircular 40L ones from Tesco -one for rubbish and one for recycling.

They sit flat against the wall and have an ingenious bag holding system. They're also easy to wash.

However, they aren't stainless steel. What they are, though, is plastic that looks just like steel but which doesn't rust, shows no fingerprints and is wipeable.

Best bins I've ever had, and I'm not one for raving about such mundane objects!

Oh, and they're on offer at Tesco at the mo and they are MUCH cheaper than simplehuman/Brabantia etc

I came on to recommend the Simplehuman one too - had ours for about 5 years and still looks and works like new.

sometimes if you complain to the makers they will do something helpful.

I always go for brushed stainless, not mirror-finish. Easier to keep looking OK.
