How do I clean my washing machine?

I've googled it and it mainly says to use bleach but I'm a bit weird about using bleach except in toilets and plug holes. White vinegar also came up alot but I don't have any.

Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated!

My washing machine man recommended soda crystals. I used it after I'd had water stuck in there whilst waiting for a repair. Filter was also blocked with years of coins etc. He said to use soda crystals also for d/washer, put in detergent compartment. Run on empty.

I have no idea but it looks like Boffinmum does; www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/1741432-Boffs-been-on-Superscrimpers-again

Thanks so much for all the suggestions. I think I will do the empty hot wash first then another with White vinegar or soda crystals.

Will I find soda crystals in the cleaning isle? Blush

I didn't know you had to clean the filter either! Blush our washing machine is only about 9 months old though, so hopefully won't be too bad.

yes you get sods crystals near the washing powders. They also sell them in home bargains at about 30p less than in the supermarket.

This shows what they look like and how to use them
