Pan lids

I feel under attack by ten saucepan lids every time I open my cupboard. They slide out and clatter on the floor. Help!

I had them contained in the colander for a while but soon saw the flaw in that cunning plan when I needed to drain pasta and they were all over the floor again.

How do you store yours?

On top of the pans they belong to; I keep my pans in drawers though.

MrsMangoBiscuit · 03/04/2013 15:30

Stacked up in the loaf tin at the back, behind the pans.

PigletJohn · 03/04/2013 15:49

on top of their pans, but upside down, so you can put the next smaller pan on top.

you can also have a rail on the wall or the cupboard door to slot them into, the rail is spaced off enough for the lid to fit, but not the knob.

On top of the pan they belong to - upside down so they can still stack... on a shelf.. we bought nice shiny stainless steel ones when we got married 14 years ago - they still look nice all lined up...

Everytime one of our 500 falls out the cupboard it goes in the bin.

Problem solved Wink

No help here either - I have a pan drawer, not a cupboard. They are much better for containing stray lids Smile

+1 for the pan drawers, they're great

can even put a giant mixer or a breadmaker in them.

I have a rail thingy I got in ikea - a bit like this:-

except mine is wooden and doesn't fold up. My mum was so impressed she got Dad to make her two! Works v well and v cheap.

A plate rack or attach something to the inside of the doors. Pinterest is full of ideas for things like this.

A few ideas there

PigletJohn · 03/04/2013 18:20

that's what I had in mind

UntamedShrew · 04/04/2013 07:25

Great links & ideas thank you!

My pans all stack inside each other which saves lots of space but leaves this lids problem. Will see if I can move stuff around to devote a drawer to pans instead too maybe - but that might mean no more Tupperware.. Dilemma

We use a pan stand, do you have space for that?

BeCool · 05/04/2013 11:14

I have 2 IKEA Grundtal single bar racks on the kitchen wall that I hang pots etc on. The pot lids slide into the top of the rack (fitting between the rack & the wall - held in place by the lid's handle) and fit there very well.

BeCool · 05/04/2013 11:23

A bit like the first picture in Poulters link - but mine is on wall and has stuff hanging too.

Mandy2003 · 05/04/2013 20:40

I have this one on the inside of a cupboard door.

It's great fun Hmm - if I put the lids in the wrong order the shelf catches them and they all fall off! I think keeping them in a loaf tin at the back of the cupboard sounds much better, frankly.

ChippingInIsEggceptional · 05/04/2013 20:41

Upside down in it their pans, pans stacked. They look nice :)

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 05/04/2013 20:43

I have a hanging thing that I got from Lakeland, it goes on the inside of the door. Works a charm.
