Pasta bowls

I need new ones as our ikea ones are chipped too much now. Even though they're not actually that old! Hmm

So where are yours from?

I want a shallow bowl, without a wide rim (like a fancy gastro pub plate/ dish), and it needs to be fairly robust as 2yo dd needs to use grown up bowls and plates now. :)

Thanks!

You can't beat Denby IMO!!! Microwave, freezer, dishwasher, oven safe and very robust! Grin

M&S.

Emma Bridgewater does some nice wide pasta bowls in various patterns.

I've seen Denby and Jamie Oliver ones fitting that description in TK Maxx a couple of months back. I was looking for my two year old so I know what style you mean.

We have those Denby bowls and use them more often than plates: not only pasta, but stir fry, curry, chilli, risotto... They have loads of colours and there is quite a tempting sale on the website at the moment.

We have some very nice porcelain plain white ones from m and s,. The range is called maxim. There is 20 per cent off homeware thee at the moment, so I would imagine this makes them about a fiver each. You can buy them singly, which is ideal. The john rocha etch ones from debenhams are nice too, but pricier.

We got ours from Matalan for about £2.50 a piece. Perfectly serviceable. Have seen similar cheap sets in Tesco, BHS et al.

I second the M&S Maxim range. They're perfect to replace if one gets chipped as M&S have had that range since we got married 10 years ago! Pasta bowls are useful for other meals too, like chilli or casserole. We use ours loads.

I got out lovely ones from Whittards in the sale Smile

VicklePickle · 04/04/2013 16:57

I too use my pasta dishes for almost all my meals. John Lewis/Waitrose would be a good place to look for quality bowls which won't chip.

TeaOneSugar · 04/04/2013 18:18

We have Denby ones, and also use them for lots of meals.

I bake individual lasagnes in mine.
