oily residue on bottle teats in dishwasher

this is kind of hybrid Good Housekeeping/Bottle & Breastfeeding question. I thought i would try here first though.

All of DD2's bottles and teats go in the dishwasher. I used to hand wash them all but frankly life is too short and hygiene wise the dishwasher does a much better job. While the bottles come up lovely and clean, the silicone teats often have a greasy residue on them. They are definately clean, there is not a trace of milk residue on them but they have this oily film. It happens to any soft plastic or silicone that goes in the dishwasher. The residue doesn't have a taste or a smell and it seems to happen regardless of the brand of dishwasher tab i am using, rinse aid or level of salt in the machine. We live in Surrey and have very hard water and i have a theory that it might be caused by the hard water.
I wondered if i could put a scoop of soda crystals just loose in the bottom of the dishwasher on the next run and see if it makes a difference to the teats.
Just slightly worried about soda crystal residue or potentially damaging the dishwasher or the teats.

If anyone has any experience of this or advice i would love to hear it
