Butter, marmite, honey, nutella in the fridge or not?

I keep getting in trouble with the family for putting these 4 things back in the fridge, it's annoying I know when they are rock solid and impossible to spread but with kitchens being warm with heating on, is it really ok? Just wondered what others do.

Butter would be only one in fridge in this house. Marmite, choc spread and honey all change textures when chilled and become nasty.

We use lit oak spreadable though as like butter not to be rock hard and have a family member who works in processing plant who warned me not to buy other spreadables. Not sure why but hey, he only uses it and knows more about what goes on in the fa Tories than me.

Marmite goes too hard in the fridge and honey crystallizes.
You can't spread butter that's been in the fridge. We only put it in when it's really warm. Not really a problem at the moment - in fact, even butter out of the fridge is too hard now.

Our butter has never gone off.

I do keep ketchup in the fridge, and jam, but only really because there's usually more space in the fridge than in the cupboard. Plus it fits my 'things used together go together' rule better.

Everything in the cupboard apart from butter, which is actually Lurpak spreadable stuff and probably needs to be in the fridge anyway Smile
