thing to turn my current pans into induction hob pans?

I am SURE I've read on here about some sort of a pad that you sit on an induction hob which will allow you to use your existing, non magnetic, pans on an induction hob.

Much googling has led to nothing - anyone heard of such a device, or am I going to have to say goodbye to my aluminium steamer pot?

Is this any good?

When i got my induction hob i investigated these things. Reviews on Amazon said they worked but were very slow. As the main points of an induction hob are speed and temperature control I bought new pans intended for induction hobs - Ready Steady Cook ones from TKMAXX. I think they were about £12 each. I have other stainless steel pans but they are much slower coming to the boil.

I bought ikea 365 pans for my induction hob. They work fine and are very easy to clean. Would possibly work out cheaper than buying four of those converters?

Brilliant, yes, freddie

Thanks for the advice, I've just got ONE pan which I love.

I am realising that I'm incredibly dull. Embrace the inner pan?

Gussie, I almost cried when I said goodbye to my lovely copper bottomed, wooden handled saucepans. Could you report back on the converter if you get one as I really miss my aluminium pressure cooker.

I got an induction hob last month and have bought a similar converter to the one Freddie links to.
The converter should be smaller than the bottom of the pan (otherwise it can mark the hob).
I have used mine for my aluminium pressure cooker and jam pan - not things that I use frequently which I'd want to spend out on again. The converter worked absolutely fine - the jam boiled very vigorously and the pressure cooker steamed a full pressure.
I am now investing in Le Creuset stainless steel/aluminium core pans as my old pans are stainless steel with a copper bottom and don't work well on the induction hob.

JAM PAN!

ohmaigawsh, I'd forgotten about my jam pan!

Thank the Lord for the wisdom of MN.

yep, will report back. I'll bring scones to go with the jam? x

available on ebay, FRABOSK DIFFUSER, price £14.89. hope this helps.

I have an induction hob and use the pans I've always used. I didn't know you were meant to use anything different Shock
