Cleaning granite worktops

Murtette · 23/02/2013 20:15

We had granite worktops installed a couple of weeks ago and, whilst I love them, they are a pain to keep smear free. Any tips? I have the Method daily cleaner but its occurred to me that that is just a shining product rather than an anti-bacterial so should I also be using something like Dettol? I'm sure the woman in the showroom mentioned something about having put Windolene on the worktops...can I? At the moment, each time I buff my worktops, I just focus on the fact that it must be good for my bingo wings!

Thanks

I just use a piece of kitchen paper dipped in very hot water to get rid of grease and fingerprints and then the gloss spray afterwards.

e-cloth from lakeland.

Kitchen roll and dettol spray.

I've tried most cleaners. The best I've found so far is a new one from m&s. It's £1.99 a bottle.

I use a bog standard surface cleaner to get rid of food stuff etc and I then use the m&s granite cleaner. I spray it on and then polish it off with an e cloth. It works really well and the work tops gleam.

I second the e-clothes...they leave our bathroom worktop smear free

Very hot water - e cloth whilst still wet - perfect shine & no chemicals.
