I'd let the dress dry then take it outside and give it a good shake - that often dislodges much of the tissue. I don't suppose it's tumble-dryable? That also tends to get stuff off and dumps it in the filter. Otherwise, try a strip of sellotape wrapped round your hand and dab the tissue off (once it's dry).

Thanks saz, I'd already contemplated the tumble dryer but with it being woolly I don't want to risk shrinking it as well.....it's looking slightly better after a shake outside, I'll try the Sellotape trick hadn't thought of that, then wash it again.

one of those sticky roller things?

Spoonful · 20/02/2013 15:31

I did this, I rinsed it alone in the machine, then I did tumble dry it because I read that was the best way to get fluff off, it didn't shrink luckily- and then I used cellotape for the last few bits.

Would also be thrilled to learn of a process as my process consists of swearing, cursing DH for leaving it there, cursing myself for not having checked and then lots of shaking and re-washing.

Ah yes, a sticky roller thing, we live a million miles away from any shops but will buy one if Sellotape / rewashing / shaking etc doesn't work.....in fact I should probably just buy one anyway as being prepared means ill probably never need it again anyway ;)
Kindle my first process was similar to yours....it didn't work unfortunately....I went through a similar process last week when dh shrunk DS' beautiful hand knitted cardi in the wash, there was no saving that one though :(
Thanks for all your advice by the way!
