Storage boxes - sizes, quality, tips?!

I have so many old clothes etc (I am a hoarder, better than I used to be, but still) in the attic in chinese laundry bags. I thought these bags were great at first, but I now have too many, and have made them all messy by searching through them for the odd item I need. The straw that broke the camel's back was leaving one in the shed for a few days and a mouse got in.
So have decided to splash out and buy some transparent stackable storage boxes with lids and make a lovely clean wall of clutter in the attic.
Please no telling me to get rid of it all - I would love to, but have already done as much decluttering as i can this year, and still need all the baby clothes/slings etc for number 4 on the way.
So I have a few queries for those organised souls among you who already have the boxes:
Are the cheap ones ok? There is a huge difference between a £7 box from Asda and a £19 from Really Useful Box company.
I was thinking 84 litres was a good size. I want to be able to stack baby clothes, my 'keep but don't wear' clothes, memorabilia, baby equipment, electronic equipment, soft toys, bags, hats, blankets, material etc etc.
I was thinking the ones with a door at the end looked good, but one of the reviews on Staples said that the hinges were flimsy and it is better to go for the simpler ones.
Does anyone know where to get boxes at the best price?
Please help, I have baby brain and can't decide!
x

We were looking at proper storage while an extension was being built & decided on the RUB, as we could then use them in the loft/garage etc afterwards. Having got a couple of 84L, once full (clothes/towels/bedding type), they are almost too heavy for hubby to lift up the ladder into the loft. Check the sizes of stuff you need to store, but I'd recommend 64L as a 'lift able' size.
Search around for prices, as they can vary quite a bit. But on the whole, we're very happy with them, they survived a year in the shed (with a dodgy leaking roof!) & the contents were fine. The ikea stackable ones, even with the lids gaffa-taped on didn't really cope...
