IKEA PAX - slim line version

Hi, looking to get an ikea pax wardrobe for DS room but due to space restrictions we would have to get the slim line version, which is less deep (hangers have to hang face-on).

Does anyone have this type? Are they any good? We would be getting the really tall ones and I think we can still easily store loads, just wondering if anyone had experience of them. Thanks!

We have one in the hall behind the front door, but just the normal height. We've got three wire baskets on runners in the bottom for shoes & bags, plus a shelf at the top.

It's nice and solid, and was easy to build and add the extras in to, just make sure you remember to buy door handles, because I forgot!

It wouldn't be my first choice as a main wardrobe, but I guess that will depend on how much stuff you need to put in it? We can get about 8 coats in, 4 on each arm, but these are autumn/winter ones, it should be a bit less of a squash in summer.

Yes, we've got them in our kitchen for coats etc ours are the tall ones. Need 2 to put them together, but they were fine to do. Mind you, we are Ikea experts Grin

Thanks for your replies! DS's room is not large enough for a full depth wardrobe and his bed, so we need to get the slimline one.

I was thinking that most of his stuff will be folded on shelves/in baskets, so not much would be on hangers really.. Also, since it would be the really tall one and 1.5m wide, there should be plenty space for his stuff, even when he gets bigger (he has just turned 6). Anything else I should be considering?

A lot of the exciting interior fittings won't go in the 35cm ones, so don't get carried away Grin

Thanks, we know there is a much smaller section of internal fittings but there is everything we need, so are happy about thatSmile
