I need a new tumble dryer - recommendations please!

I have a Hoover tumble dryer, and it is on it's last legs. The motor is going, and also the bearings are wearing out.

I've had a repair guy out and he said it isn't worth the cost of the repair and to replace it.

If money was no object I would buy a Miele, but I really would rather not spend that much!

What do you have that has lasted pretty well and does a good job? It needs to hold a big load - 8 or 9kg - because I have a big drum washing machine.

I've just had my Beko tumble drier replaced under warranty well I've got a credit note as refuse to have another Beko. It died at four months old and when the repair man came he showed me the inside. It was cheap sharp metal and he cut his hands trying to retention it. The first repair was the capacitor then the drum and finally the motor burnt out.

I tried a zanussi were staying this summer it was really fab and really ready to wear. They dont seem to make this same model anymore.

Any one could recommend a ready to wear condenser/quite dryer. We would place it on the top of our washing machine

Avoid MIELE heat pump condenser at ALL COSTS. Slow, knots really badly, bad sensor. Waste of money 😫

The cheapest Miele. Last one lasted 15 years with heavy use.

With regards to drum size, I’d be more inclined to look at the drum volume as opposed to weight capacity (this is the one instance where the US has it right).

As the capacity rating (in Kg) IMO is tosh; It refers to dry laundry weight. But no mention of the volume of clothing /fabric being washed.

For example, most would agree that a standard hollowfibre double or king duvet weighs nowhere near 9kg or so (9kg is 9 standard UK bags of sugar), however put this in your washer and it will fill the whole drum with no space to spare. So where does the weight come in to it?

Also, machines that are supposed to take the same weight as one another can be very different sizes in terms of volume (L) measurement, example my 8kg Bosch had a way deeper drum than a 8kg Hoover washing machine.

Another thing, when researching for a new washing machine, I read somewhere (think it was whitegoods.co.uk), that when machines are being graded for their weight capacity, the manufacturers can load the drums with professionally folded clothing, from top to bottom and front to back. It also includes the door boot (rubber bit), and the real shocker, the door is allowed to be OPEN!! Unsure how anyone is supposed to wash that way.

I have a 9kg washer and an 8kg dryer and I have never not been able to fit what’s in the wash in to the dryer in one go (it was the same when I had a 12kg washer) .

I've got an AEG condenser, its brilliant.

How is the 'ready to wear' option?

I'm looking for an integrated tumble dryer to replace my old one which gave up. It was a condensing one which you can't seem to buy now, if it's integrated. My other option is an integrated vented one, but the vent at the back needs to be on the right hand side as you face the machine. All I've looked at are vented on the left side. Help please...i can't source one anywhere! 😊

Don't wish to be rude Wheresmyphone but took delivery of a Miele TKG840 heat pump tumble dryer 3 weeks ago and it most definitely tumbles in both directions.
