White Company hydrocotton towels

Has anyone got them?

Need replace our old towels. They are limp, grey and snagging despite only having them two years!

DH said he really liked look of towels instore (personally not seem them yet). Be good to know if anyone recommends them before we make another expensive mistake.

Or any other recommendations for thick, fluffy, super soft towels appreciated!

They have issues with quality, my 300tc sheets went to holes in under 3 years and the store says any damage over 6 months is fair wear and tear.

My Dh's auntie has the softest towels ever, softer and fluffier than my Christy towels, Primark! Even her mega rich DD has Primark towels.

TK Maxx do lovely towels too, designer named but so cheap. I've seen Christy towels in there and I think DKNY as well.

No, me neither but I asked her and that's where she goes for them.

I have a WC hydrocotton dressing gown and it's lovely but snagged like anything. No idea what I did to it.

I have lovely thick fluffy Conran at M&S towels.

The only dressing gown I had from there that hasnt shrunk is the waffle one, all the velour ones shrink in the arms and the towelling one I had went all bitty too. It looked like it needed a hair cut after a while.

I have ten year old Christy's in cream, still going strong!

Thanks everyone. Its Christy ones we have now but they look awful! Maybe its the particular ones I got (suprima ones) or I wasnt washing them properly but have been put off!

Trip to Primark then!

I'm starting to wonder if people with fluffy towels care for them in a different way.

I've had mega expensive ones and they're all still pristine white but def. not fluffy.

How do you care for yours?

Angel I just wash them at 60o (and very occasionally 90o) with no fabric softener and a cup of vinegar every 2 months or so. Sometimes I also add Ecover bleach because it's very gentle and has no optical brighteners.

I always tumble dry them (unless there's a miracle and it's sunny up here in Scotland) and they are all beautifully white but no fluffiness to be had.

Let me know if you find the path to fluffy!

Forgot to say, I was in the White Company last week and actually considered buying the Hydrocotton because they felt like they were made of clouds and marshmallows, but decided against it because, like andadietcoke said they were already snagged on the shelf, so I figured it was down hill from there.

I actually found BHS towels to be very good and fluffy. I have Christy and White company towels, but the white company ones are very snagged and thready looking.

I only use 3 tablespoons of bio powder at 60c. I never use softener at all.

If I tumble dry they got fluffy but I don't bother.
