try rubbing washing up liquid and water into the stain before washing in bio detergent. Or use de-solv-it spray on it before washing. Or strip him down to a vest!

Thanks dishwasher-stripping him off might be the way to go!

Having the same problem here!

I find scrubbing them in the sink with washing up liquid before a proper wash does help a bit.

Curious to see what others do !

I have managed to get a lot of stains out clothes by soaking them in napisan and washing powder. I put the napisan and the washing powder in a bucket and add boiling water and then I add cold water to cool the water down and then add the clothes. I managed to shift a curry stain on a white shirt which even bleach would not get rid of. When mine were littel i found that the small bibs that have an elasticated neck worked best or you can get them with sleeves but they are hassle to put on.

I would always strip off my DCs at that age for meals, to the nappy.

Use the Tommee Tippee soft plastic/rubber bibs - they go in the dishwasher.

PoppyWearer · 04/01/2013 18:04

Just to clarify, it is the bibs that go in the dishwasher, not the DCs.

DCs go in the bath.

Sunshine gets rid of even orange baby food or bolognaise type stains. I know there's not much around at the moment but if you have a window that gets lots of sun when it's out you could wash the offending item and leave the stain for the sun to zap.
Much better and quicker outside in the summer obviously Smile

Sink or bowl full of cold water, couple of milton tablets, soak until next putting a wash on, bobs yer uncle.

Thanks everyone-my mum has Milton in liquid form so will try that.

I have also just googled sunshine thinking it was a specific brand of washing powder...............
