Toddlers bedroom flooring stinks of pee!

Last week I noticed that there was an odour of urine in my DS (2 yo) room. Tried the obvious, washed the sheets and mattress protector with no improvement. I couldn't think what else it could be as he is just 2 and still in nappies (odd leak overnight, hence washing bedding). Had a good sniff of mattress and it was dry with no stains or marks.

Mentioned to DH the smell and apparently a couple of weeks ago whilst I was at work they were messing about before bath time running round and DS peed on the bedroom floor. He says he wiped it straight up.
So it must be the laminate flooring, and before you suggest it, there is no chance I can afford to rip it up at present unless, of course, all else fails.

Tried flash and a good scrub, any other amazing suggestions please!
TIA

The only thing I can think of (and not speaking from experience of toddler pee as we've not had the experience of floor weeing - yet) is 'pet odour neutraliser'. I got some in Wilkinsons before when one of my cats kept peeing on the floor. We have old lino tiles and can't afford to take them up and replace. I used this stuff and it has removed the smell. It wasn't expensive either, so might be worth a try?

Hoping DD doesn't decide to start floor weeing any time soon as we're in a one-bedroom with carpet in lounge and bedroom. And no funds for flooring!

Paint with specialist paint? We had to do this in a bathroom on chipboard (used gloss paint) to block the smell.

it has probably got into the joints between the boards. Wet-mopping it straight away, before it soaked in, would have done more good than wiping it up. If you wet-mop laminate enough to attack it now, it will probably swell up at the joints.

Bicarbonate of soda dissolved in warm water is supposed to help. Maybe sponge it on and quickly off to avoid it getting too wet.

I have used biological washing powder in hot warer to remove the smell of cats piddle, the enzymes are supposed to kill the smell,so I suppose it would work on human urine too.

Thanks for the suggestions, going to give the bicarb and bio powder a go first, and yes, cleaning it up straight away would have helped..... Grrrrrrrrrr
Lazy men!

And it cleaning it fails, I'm off to Wilkos for some pet odour neutraliser, thanks NotGeoff.

Will report back for future reference!
