And it's on the fully fitted part of the arm, so I can't take the fabric off and wash it, it needs cleaning in situ. The fabric itself isn't too delicate, I've put the removable cushions through the washing machine before.

Any ideas for how to clean it?

Someone sensible will be along in a minute but I seem to remember something about ironing it out on paper...hmmm don't try this.

I can't remember, sorry

Bearandcub · 23/12/2012 18:47

Lord so unhelpful, consider this a bump!

RandomMess · 23/12/2012 18:48

Dr Beckhams do a crayon remover I'm sure

insertsomethingwitty · 23/12/2012 18:48

Is it wax or pencil crayon?

Glitterknickaz · 23/12/2012 18:49

Brown paper bag or brown parcel paper, blotting paper best if you have it. Place over marks and iron with warm iron, not hot, with steam off.

Any residue try baby wipes...

Certainly for ink I just actually work it in and then wash, you would have to scrub and wash in situ. After using the specialist remover I would use cold water and a bar of vanish soap.

ApuskiMcClusky · 23/12/2012 18:50

Wax crayon, the really effective ones rather than the can barely make a mark ones, unfortunately.

Thanks for suggestions!

I'd scrape off as much as you can with your nails

ApuskiMcClusky · 23/12/2012 19:25

Thanks again, just been doing bedtime. Will try scraping off what I can, then try iron, then stain remover.

Then can I strongly recommend buying crayola washable felt tips and binning everything else Grin and store them out of reach so you know when they are being used!

ApuskiMcClusky · 23/12/2012 20:40

Been thinking that RandomMess - I have only ever bought washable crayons and felt tips, and yet it seems there's a tide of other ones creeping in the house from party bags or freebies from magazines or restaurants! I shall have to cull.
