we have an old boiler and just lately, although it is serviced etc, i've been paranoid about carbon monoxide. this morning, i thought, this is daft, so nipped to argos and got a digital one.

we've had those little square ones in the past with the dot that goes black but i feel less worried now i've got something which flashes green, so i know it's working, and i can also see the measurements it's taking.

so, who else has not got one yet??

no, but they are especially needful if you have a gas-fire.

Essential if you are unfortunate enough to have a flueless fire

Just ordered a digital one. DH is convinced it is unnecessary, but the boiler is close to our bedrooms so I like the ones that show you a ppm reading so if it goes off you can actually see what the levels are rather than get annoyed with the beeping and turn it off

not unnecessary at all. our boiler is in the kitchen and vents straight out the wall, but ds's bedroom is above so for peace of mind it was worth the £25.

happy to report the reading is at 0.

if that alarm ever does go off, it'll be the best christmas present ever if it means we avoid anything nasty happening.
