Hi, have avoided these so far with DCs, but last night saw one sticking their head out of 2yr old DD's bottom. Googled NHS Choices and will talk to pharmacist today. DD is 2.5 and at nursery, DS 6 and in Yr 1. Am a demon bedding washer because DS has dustmite allergy, but would welcome any handy hints. Broke the news to DH late last night - ahh romance.

Not going anywhere for Christmas - just to my Mum's one day and DH's parents another. So laundry can proceed uninterrrupted.

Get to pharmacy for tablets to treat whole family.

Ovex from the chemist for the whole family.
Own towels.
scrub nails with nail brush and cut nails short. (whole family)

And Ovex all round again after a week to prevent re-infection. When DD had them really badly she wore pants under her pyjamas to prevent any nocturnal scratching and then transfer to her 'snuggly'. Both things washed daily.

Clean all of your door handles- prevents transmission if kids have been scratching and haven't washed their hands. Really common cause of re-infection.

Clean laptop keyboards, phones & remote controls. Obviously, if you have pets these need to be treated pronto.

thanks a lot, DD has developed a streaming cold and hacking cough overnight, so done usual cold transmission precautions - apart from keyboards, good point fussychica, and dosed us all with Ovex yesterday and done endless laundry, so think I'm almost there. Thanks again
