What is the etiquette for paying your cleaner at Christmas

We've have a lovely cleaner (godsend in fact!) who comes every fortnight.

I wonder if we need to give her a tip/present for Christmas? And if so, how much or what would you give?

Yes, I'd say you no need to give her a top at Christmas. One week's money? That's what I'd do.

I give my cleaner a box of chocs and a weeks money - she comes every week

Thanks. It's the first Christmas we have a cleaner and wasn't sure what to do!

My cleaner comes on a Tuesday, so I think I have to pay her for the next two Tuesdays as they will be bank holidays. Should I tip her as well or will a bottle of wine suffice?

As someone who was a cleaner I would definitely say an extra week's money would be a great gift. If you can stretch to a box of chocs or bottle of wine too that would be the perfect combo.
If you give nothing then I would be a bit insulted tbh

I have a cleaner for 3hrs a wk and she's great, I give her £50 tip and boxes of sweets/chocs for her children.

I give my cleaner a nice bunch of flowers and a week's extra pay. She also gets a week off (paid) if she wants it. That's what I have, after all.

I do this because 1) she is a wonderful person 2) I really rely on her 3) she is very good at her job 4) everyone else takes her for granted and she deserves it.
