What temp should i wash my bedding at?

I've been a bot of a tramp.

I am suffering depression and as a result spent a lot of time in bed lately often fully clothed. So my bedding has definitely been overused and some of the dye from my new jeans has transferred from where I've been wallowing.

So what temp should I was them at?

I normally do at 60C more so my machine gets a bit of a regular semi maintenance wash. I was going to do it at 90 cos it is so minging.

But if I'm using a bio detergent surely no point in going above 40....hmm I have my washing in the machine and I can't make a decision....

I'd do it at forty with bio. Hope the dye shifts!

PixieHot · 30/11/2012 08:46

I think 60C if you can. But I use non-bio. I'd throw in one of those dye catcher sheets too in this case.

Flowers Hope you feel better soon.

I normally do bedding at 60 but use non-bio.

The dye isn't that bad but it clearly has a blue tinge on my side of the bed.

I have some vanish oxy action powder I will put in and I may have some spray I can use on the worst of.it.

I have some colour catcher sheets or I have a colour run remover sachet thing.

I have bio liquitabs and I have colour capsules which I guess are non bio but won't have any bleach or whitening agents in.

So clear instructions. What temp and what combo of detergents please.

And thanks for the flowers.

In that case, I'd say:
Bio
40C
Dye catcher sheet

I always do at 60-90. Just stick it on 90 to give it an extra clean. Boiling temp of 100 kills germs alone ( that's how baby bottles are sterilsed at 100 without any chemicals), so 90 will kill most things regardless of what you add in the machine

PixieHot · 30/11/2012 08:57

Then dye run sachet if it doesn't work.
Then non-bio + 90C if that doesn't work.
Then bleach soak if that doesn't work.

Hmm...how about...

Double vanish oxy action (im assuming that's a no brainer).

I normally use double detergent with my bedding....so I could use one of each to give me the brighteners and the non-bio...then wash at 40...

Or I could put through 2 cycles if necessary to deal with the sweat and bodily fluids (not that there is much of that at the mo, and then a hotter wash to deal with the hygiene and dye...

Hmm I'm over thinking this now aren't I . I should have just whacked the machine on half an hour ago...

Just chuck in some oxi vanish. Add what whatever washing liquid/ powder. 90 degrees. Ignore
