Pillows, cheap or expensive?

Do expensive pillows hold their shape better than cheaper ones?

We seem to be quite hard on pillows. They go lumpy and lose their shape within a few months.

I don't like the mentality of buying cheap and throwing away and replacing. But at the same time, I'm loathe to spend big money on pillows in case I end up buying expensive and still throwing away.

Are expensive pillows a worthwhile investment do you think?

no, they are just more expensive (imo)
we have hollow fibre pillows from ikea, one shake and they are lovely and fluffy again and wash well.

dunlopillo latex pillows are expensive but worth every penny.

the super comfort pillow is fabulous - supportive yet squishy. they are naturally anti-dustmite, being made of latex, and do not lose shape or go lumpy as they are made from one piece of latex.

i have never found a decent hollow fibre pillow.

We bought pillows a couple of times a year, up until last year when we bought the memory foam ones and they are fab. They do take a bit of getting used to though as they are a lot firmer than our nice soft squishy microfibre ones.

Maybe not super expensive, but definitely midrange +. We have a John Lewis memory foam one each + a midrange down/ feather one on top. Have used them for 3.5 years and they are as good as new. I do think that very cheap synthetic ones go lumpy more quickly, but a lot of it is due to the user. My ex used to fold and twist Hmm his pillows and they were quickly wrecked.

I got these 18 months ago and they are good as new: www.johnlewis.com/231447280/Product.aspx

Glad to see others have got so much use out of them.

Expensive for me! I am fussy though, we have goose down ones and I think they are soooo comfortable, worth the extra! Have not had them long enough yet to say whether they keep their shape.

I bought a Dunlopillow a few months back as I was waking every day with a headache and worked out it was the pillows I had before. I was a bit Shock at the price but I can honestly say they're totally worth every penny.
Haven't woken up with a headache since Smile

Another vote for Dunlopillow

i like the medium priced, firm ones from Dunelm. (The most expensive non-feather ones that will go in the washing machine.)

Dunlopillo everything. They come with a five year guarantee, but last a lot longer than that. We've had ours for 8 years and they are still the same as when bought. Huge range from about 50 pounds. We've got the mid range super comfort, and they are worth every penny. You can find them in the pillows section here. Www.Homespacedirect.com
