Burnt on food on 100 year old enamel cassorole dish...

I had left it to soak for two days with bio liquid and have scrapped most off. I didn't want to ruin the enamel. It's shameful that I have been handed an sirloin and have nearly ruined it within a year :(

can you soak it in coke?

I strongly doubt that you are the first person to have burned it.

I shall pretend that sirloin isn't confusing the fuck out of me.

I presume you mean enamelled cast iron, very heavy? Has it got any chips?

Have you used a green nylon scourer yet?

that Fairy magic stuff in the green squirty bottle is good for burnt-on bits

or could you maybe use an oven cleaner?

also, if you get some \link{http://www.amazon.co.uk/Metal-Scouring-Pads-Pack-KI4086/dp/B004ZGA35M\proper old-fashioned metal scourers} (not from amazon though, they have themin the supermarket) they're much better at shifting heavy-duty filth - I use them on the enamel oven bottom & they work without damaging it

Metal scourers are super cheap from wilkinsons and make light work of everything.

Brillopad? I use that on my cast iron.
