Masking tape residue on my windows

Hi all,
I don't often post in here but I lurk enough to know how helpful you are!
I recently stained the doorframe on my back door and put some heavy duty tape around the glass..a week later and I've removed the tape but the glue residue remains! How on earth am I going to get it off without scratching the glass? Is there some magic store cupboard potion that will break it down??
Thanks

WD 40 is the best thing for this type of problem .

Eucalyptus oil. Fabulous for disolving sticky stuff.

Something you're likely to have in the house: rub baby oil into it, leave it for an hour, then wipe it off. Mineral oil helps soften sticky stuff, not sure if it will work on old tape residue but it's cheap and easy to try!

Methylated spirits. I had exactly the same issue and it worked a treat.

Get a razor blade or a special fine bladed tool for removing paint from glass.

Then slide the blade at an acute angle along the glass and it will peel it off.

Sticky Stuff remover. It's really good stuff.

Wow! I knew I would find an answer here! Thanks so much! I'll start in my cupboards and work up to Lakeland if that doesn't work (dangerous place for me that shop!!) now if you could just come up with a potion to relieve DS's ear ache.....Hmm

Thanks again. Smile
