Do you have a wireless burglar alarm? (...ooh I'd love a wireless burglar alarm)

And if so, does it interfere with your wireless internet?

I fitted one for my old mum, and, no, it is on a different frequency.

Professional installers sneer at them, but they can be cheap to buy and easy for a DIYer to install in an hour or two. You do need to read the instructions, preferably twice.

Last time I looked they were on special offer at Screwfix.

I would definitely get one that connects to the phone line and calls keyholders in the event of an alarm. If you have a biggish house or outbuildings, it is more economical to buy an additional basic kit and use the parts it contains, than to buy several individual sensors as individual parts.

p.s.

however the wireless router can sometimes interfere with the alarm panel, if it is close, so mount it somewhere else. You can walk-test all the components before you fix them, so you can use blu-tak first and move any that are too close.
