Hubby is just about to finish installing a brand spanking new shower room which will look lovely and shiny and I want to keep it that way. What are the best products to use to keep taps shiny and shower screens clean and streak free??

Marking my place is DH is also putting finishing touches to our new bathroom.

Its exciting isn't it? I just want to make sure that I start off properly so don't let all the limescale etc build up. Wondering if there are more natural things I should use ie) vinegar mixed with something???

Ooh am going to mark my place too please. Just moved and bathroom is my favourite room! Have been wondering how to keep the shiny feel. Previous owners have left all manner of products and I don't know where to start.

If you use vinegar and wAter do you wash off with soap? Surely just smells of vinegar otherwise.

For the shower screen, I find the Method Daily Shower Spray fab, and I don't mind using it daily and remember to because it smells so nice. I then use an e cloth about once a week - one of the bathroom ones wet, and then dry it with one of the glass cloths. Works for my shower which is coming up to 2 years old but still looks nice and new. I haven't found 'the one' for taps yet!

Where did you get your shower etc from? Any hints as I want to do up my en-suite - sadly my DH is not at all practical (neither am I) so I will have to get someone in but a bit daunted as to how to start planning. Any advice gratefully received. Smile

For keeping clean a quick swipe with an ecloth after you use it will keep it sparkling.

Pastabee · 20/09/2012 18:16

I think buying some decent e cloths and keeping them clean by washing without fabric conditioner is more important than the product you use. I have one for the loo, one for the rest of the bathroom, one for the floor and one for going round drying everything off when I've finished.

Enjoy your new bathroom.

Where do you get your ecloths from? I have seen them in lakeland and john lewis for ££££ and also in the pound shop, 3 for £1.

Are all ecloths made equal??

Thelobsterswife · 20/09/2012 18:40

I am not sure but I get mine in TK Maxx for a reasonable price.

Pastabee · 20/09/2012 18:45

I get mine in Lakeland for £££ I'm afraid but they last for a few years and are often on offer in there.

BooBooChicken · 20/09/2012 18:53

Thanks, will have a look around for them Smile

Rascal79 · 20/09/2012 20:41

E cloths it is then!!!

Ecloths were half price in Wait rose last time I was in...

Ragwort · 20/09/2012 22:05

I don't think it is worth buying the cheap ones, I did and they were pretty useless Grin.

Pasta - how do you remember which one is for which part of the bathroom, you sound very organised.

wwydimp · 20/09/2012 22:06

Get a squeegee for the shower screen and make sure everyone uses it after each shower - ours stays super shiny for ages. Only takes a minute to do too.

Pastabee · 20/09/2012 22:39

They are different colours Ragwort. I have a fetching trug for all my cleaning stuff to go in too!

The good thing with the Lakeland e cloths is they last such a long time you remember which is which.

Or you can write on the labels with a clothes marker pen.
