How do I get rid of the mouldy smell in clothes?

I have some t-shirts that somehow were left in a clothes basket for a week, after they'd been washed, they smell horrible now. I've washed them on as hot a wash as I dare, soaked them in white vinegar for hours and washed them in the machine on a hot wash and added vinegar to the fabric conditioner drawer. None of which has eradicated the smell.
I've had them in soak for most of the day today in a strong concentration of vinegar and water and I'm now going to put them on the line and leave them there for a few weeks!!!!
Has anyone ever had any success with removing a mould smell from clothes or am I wasting my time?

I wonder if napisan would help ? I would air them as you are and then soak them in some napisan and washing powder and then wash them again.

That's a thought :) My youngest is almost 21 - I'd forgotten about napisan! Will it bleach the clothes?

It won't bleach the clothes, I use it on ds's sports clothes.

I'd wash them with biological washing powder for as long a wash as possible.

Hang them on the line to dry and hope for the best!

Thanks both for the tips. They're on the line now and I'll leave them there for at least 2 weeks :) If that hasn't worked I'll try both of your suggestions, one at a time and let you know if either of them work.
Thank you for taking time to reply.

Does anyone else have any other suggestions I can have 'up my sleeve' if neither of these work, please?
Thanks

Hi chickens, I've got the answer to your prayers.

I used to use something called Fabric D-Toxy which was absolutely fantastic, but have been unable to find it for a few years now. Sad

However, I thought I'd give this a try - and it works! You can buy it in supermarkets, and I've been using it successfully for quite a while now.

It hasn't let me down yet - and I've used it several times to get rid of that horrid, pervasive smell on clothes that have stayed damp, including wet stuff which teenage DS leaves in plastic bags for me to find weeks later. Grr.

Works like a dream, first time.
