Anyone use a visual schedule for their DCs?

My DS is starting preschool 3 days a week and I think he would benefit from a schedule of where he is going & who is taking him/collecting him each day. As he is only just 4 he cant read... does anyone use some kind of visual schedule to help let their DCs know what is happening each day etc.

We used to use one for ds. We used pictures of people/ things connected to the activities he was doing on what day. There are loads of tips for this if you google it because it is a common tool for helping children who are on the spectrum.

Although these are targeted for SN they would work for a non reading NT child too.

Very useful, used them with my own child, and use them daily in work. Just google Visual schedule and you should find loads of info

Used to use these when I worked with AS toddlers, and would like to use them with my own DS when he's at the right age. I think they are great as they give them an idea of what to expect, and a visual way of explaining any change (trip to park cancelled due to rain, take park pic off and put video pic on for example), without them having to understand the concept of time too well. All people learn in different ways, for example some people learn well visually and some auditorily. Hard to tell when they are so young so nice to have more than one way of approaching things.
