Cleaning mildew/mould out of bath toys

My daughter is very lucky to have been given lots of squeezy bath toys, plus some of the lovely Octonauts bath toys. The problem is, they starting to build up limescale (not so horrendous) and the black midlew/mould. This means when a quirty toy is squirted black gunk comes out with the water.

I already make sure all toys are left as dry as possible after each bath, and have already tried soaking them in diluted bathroom cleaner - but hasn't made much difference.

Does anyone have any good ideas for how to celan them? Or am I just doomed? The next thing on my list to try is Dettol - but haven't got around to it yet.

try putting them in the dishwasher?
I stopped buying them tbh you can never get them clean properly.

I only ever bought cheap ones so I could chuck em when they went black around the squirty hole.

Dishwasher or use milton

Then superglue the holes Grin

I soak mine is a Milton (or similar) solution, but once they get gunky I'm not sure there is a better option than chucking away I'm afraid. I try and get solid toys now - DD has a collection of plastic dinosaurs that come out at bathtime.

Have you tried soaking them in a bleach solution, make sure they get some solution inside. You'll need to do it every couple of weeks though....
